Before we made applesauce in our classroom we read the story. How To make an Apple Pie and see the World, by Marjorie Priceman. Students they each had a chance to use the apple core machine. Students came up and turned the machine and placed the apple in the cooking pot. Throughout the morning the applesauce was cooking. Students enjoyed smelling the apple sauce and then were able to enjoy the applesauce. Almost all students asked for more and thought it tasted delicious. Making homemade applesauce is quick and easy.
