Student Council is a group of 4th and 5th grade students (two from each class) who have been selected by their teacher and classmates as leaders to help make positive changes in our school. The student council meets once a month to make important decisions on spirit days, organizes the school-wide food drive, and helps promote a positive and inclusive environment at Mayflower Mill. Student council members go through an intensive process to become members. Students are required to make a poster, give a speech to their class, and are then voted on by their classmates. Student council members must have been on the honor roll at least two quarters of the previous year to be eligible.
Student council elections will be held in September.
Junior Nature Club is an after-school club for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders who enjoy learning about the natural environment, conserving wildlife, working with plants, and spending time outdoors. JNC meets the first Thursday of every month from 3:30-5pm. Mrs. Ruhl and Zonda Bryant are sponsors of the club, which is funded through a not-for-profit company, Hands of the Future, INC. Visit www.hands-future.org or www.facebook.com/handsofthefuture to see photos and updates from our JNC as well as learn more about Miss Zonda's work educating the students of Tippecanoe county about Nature!
